Power for Homelink and Lighted Visor Mirrors?

Does anyone know if power is available at the visor for the Homelink and the vanity mirrors? I am considering purchasing the Lariat visors and replacing the visors on my FX4. My assumption is that the Lariart with black interior has the grey visors. You Lariat owners hopefully can verify.

I don't own a lariat but I do know that Ford uses a generic wire harness in their vehicles. Kind of a one size fits all to keep production costs down. This means that all the connections should be there. Connecting Homelink and vanity mirrors should be no problem.

Yes, the visors are a light gray, same color as the headliner. You can probably get a glimpse in one of my pics. If you need a closer/better pic let me know and I'll get it.

If anyone does this, let me know how it works. I have been wanting to do the same thing but was told by FORD that it couldn't be done.

Haha, Ford once told me that the stock head unit couldn't be replaced.

Not sure how much faith I have in their knowledge of aftermarket mods.

Of course Ford will say that they want to sell the lariat if you want those options. I think they should have all this stuff available from the XLT up. If your willing to pay why not have it available?

Or so that they can switch it out in a trade.

Had the dealer telling me that the dvd overhead console wasn't stock in the lariat when in fact it HAD been installed stock in this particular one yet they removed it to be installed in someone else's truck when he requested it.

Anything to make a buck.

They told me the DVD wasn't available for my XLT, yet I can buy it aftermarket right from their own parts counter.

Well-- I've purchased the visors from Ford (not cheap) and attempted to install the one on the passenger side. Removal was very simple(2 screws) but I was unable to locate the wiring. I used a wire to probe in the area but no luck. Does anyone know where the wiring would be, either toward the center or down the windshield post? I can't believe that Ford would use different wiring harness for FX4 versus Lariat. It would be great if there was a assembley line worker on this forum that "knows" about the wiring harness. HELP!!

You know that Homelink is on the driver's side, right?

Yes.. I do know that the Homelink is on the drivers side but there is also a visor with lighted mirror on the passenger side. As I noted, I purchased visors(plural) because I wanted to upgrade to the Lariat visors. I have not attempted the drivers side as of yet but I am assuming that if the wiring is not on the passenger side that it will not be on the drivers side since both of the visors are a Lariat package.

You could probably tap off one of the map lights.
