Broke down and bought a Ford
Hey everyone. Been following the site for quite some time now. It's really great and I've enjoyed seeing pics and reading all the great info on these awesome new trucks.
I just had to have one when they came out last year. I finally bought a 5.4 XLT Supercrew. I test drove all the big names. The Chev (which was my former love) is terribly outdated, the Dodge has one good feature (the engine), the Toyota is too feminine, and the Titan doesn't have near the refinement that the F150 does. Sure it has 5 more horsepower and a wicked sounding exhaust, but when I sat in it I didn't get the wow fealing that I did in the Ford.
I never thought I'd actually own a Ford. I've always hated every other Ford body style until this one came out. I've been waiting for GM to come out with something better but it's now happening anytime soon.
I guess I've gone from BowTie to BlueOval!

I see your from Kamloops. I love that place. Its about 5 hours straight north from me. Do you mountain bike? Ive been meaning to make it up there to do some biking.
I love your truck. I wish I had gotten that color combo. Now for the mods. Stage 1 from Troyer.

hey kanter. i can't believe you've even heard of kamloops being from montana. it's not that big of a city. yeah, the biking around here is spectacular. so many different options. you've got grasslands, rocks, and forest all within biking distance of each other.
thanks for liking the colour combination of my truck. i couldn't decide at first between the solid black or the gray/silver two tone option. now i want to get silver fender flares to finish the look.
let me know it you're ever up this way. we'll do some offroading. with our trucks and our bikes!

wasachevyguy -- I'm right there with you. My "baby" is a Pro-Street '77 Camaro, and there's an '89 Safari and a '92 Camaro living at my house. All my friends are Chevy guys too.
But, the GM products look like they've been beat with the ugly stick being passed around among their designers. I researched them all and bought my 5.5' box Scab FX4 in early September. One of my buddies who still is a GM die-hard (72 Chevelle, 78 Monte, 90's Astro and a 99 Z71 pickup) commented "That's a pretty big Ford logo on the grill... gonna be hard to cover up with a bow-tie." That pretty much says it all... he really likes the truck and wishes GM was making something comparable.
I LOVE the truck, as I'm sure you'll love yours. I may sing a different song in 3 years, but right now Ford has it going on with the trucks where the others don't. And cars? Where's the Camaro these days? The new Mustang looks SWEET!
