Question Engine slant?

Just curious, why is the 5.4 Triton engine in my truck mounted at a downward slant from left to right (when looking at engine from the front)? Is this for safety in a front collision accident or is there an engineering reason Ford did this? No real reason for asking other than being curious.

PS - also heard that the engine sits on special oil filled engine mounts to reduce transmission of engine vibration into the cab. We used similar mounts on submarines for noise abatement.

Thanks,

Buck
