Thumbs up

The XM Commander fits really well in the space where the cig lighter socket is.
Mine is held on by Velcro tape and hasnt moved in 6 months.
Sorry I dont have a pic to post.
DO IT !

I didn't flush mount mine as I didn't want to wreck the stock trim panel. Also why I pulled the wire through the joint instead of cutting through the lighter trim. at the angle it sits in the truck, you can't see the wire unless you're looking for it. But yes, that's the perfect spot for a commander. I used foam tape to make everything level with the rim of the lighter socket, then velcro taped to that.

Good antenna install spot is to go through the 3rd brake light, but wrap the wire around the light (there's a little lip on the outside of the light before the seal which covers the wire & holds it fine) and only put the wire under the seal in the bottom middle of the light so you won't encourage any leaks.

How's this:

Is the FM Modulator wireless or does it wire into the stock antenna wire?

on the commander it is a hardwire into the antenna jack of the head unit (y adapter). Don't sweat the modulators. They work, and darn good at that.
