cold air intake......getting confusing?!?!

I have looked at too many cold air intakes for the 5.4 and its a bit confusing on which to go with.

I like that volant gives you a true cold air intake and it looks cool, but, airaid was also said to be the "ONLY" cold air intake that doesn't make the truck run dangerously lean.

any insite would be helpful.

Sounds like you already know what to get. The Airraid! Give Troyer Perf a buzz... sure they'll be happy to explain it to 'ya.

Thats who i was getting my info from but was looking for more feedback. Troyer is pretty sharp and has convinced me in getting the chip, underdrive pulleys and cold air intake. I just over-thinking the cold air intake issue.

Stop thinking. The only other intake I've considering is the K&N... they took their time on it and I'm curious to see how it stacks up against the AR. The volant just seems over-engineered, not to mention cost a lot for less power... D'oh!

I'm waiting for x-mas to get the stage-1 kit from troyer. I plan on doing the intake/exhause/tuner at once... maybe even get the pulleys, too.

I have zero complaints about my AIRAID intake. It sounds great and was super easy to install. Alot more power off the line and overall improvement for the engine.

A few 150 owners has intalled the volant with no check engine problems . So the lean burn must be controled ok in the volant.
