2 more questions regarding the remote starter:

1. My installer did not hook up the hood pin switch. Does that matter? Everything seems to work fine without it.

2. When you exit the truck and lock the doors with the keyfob, the dome light stays on for an extra 30 seconds before it goes out. With the factory rke, the light would go out as soon as you pressed the lock button. Anyway to change that so the light goes out as soon as you lock it? but as I can recall, my Sport Trac dome light would stay on too for an extra 30 seconds or so after I had the Ford Silver kit installed in it, so it might be a normal feature for the Ford starter kits.

Are some Ford dealers really charging $100 for a spare key? I called the dealership I bought my truck from and he quoted $20. He lowered the price to $15 when I told him I bought the truck there.

Sandog53 - Very nice

Hey Steve, the hood swithc is a pain and no it does not matter. I believe the option you want is within the option bank 4-(6 chirps). I will let you know this afternoon. See Ya!!

If anyone else needs help, just let me know. I am more than glad to assist!

I was showed that trick by a Ford Technician.
I LOVE THIS TRICK...this is a very good trick. What a freakin' horrible design. Off go the tabs, in goes the column cover.

[EDIT]Just an added comment...I did this "mod" this morning sitting at a red light, replaced the column cover at the following red light, and then replaced the rubber cover over the keyhole in my office parking lot. Highly recommend this "mod".[/EDIT]

remote start issues

I just installed the remote start on my f150 (pn:2w7z-19g364-CA with bypass pn:1l3z-19g365-ab) and it almost works fine. The locator and alarm stuff works but it will only chirp 5 times when I go to start it. I have tried programming the bypass several times but it keeps doing the same thing. I have read the other threads on this but the bypass that was used was the 1L2 model and not the 1L3 model like I have. This one is supposed to just slip over the PATS Transceiver. Any ideas on how to get this working would be great. Thanks

Pats will have nothing to do with the system chirping. You have not properly programmed a tach signal or have failed to put the system in tachless mode. Doing so will probably get you there. Also, if you have a ca then you should just have a two button remote. Make sure you have one touch activation turned on. Good Luck!!

PATS programming

Thanks for the help. I got past that problem but doing the programming. My question now is it trys to run it but it will not program the PATS bypass correctly. according to the instruction manual i should have PN: 1L2Z-19G365-AB but the dealer sold me the 1L3Z-19G365-AB. In the manual I see the second I mentioned should go with the old body style but the first mentioned goes with the new body style. Will this matter as far as getting the securilock interface to program the bypass as a third key? that is the only problem I have with it now. Thanks
