fabtech coilovers
fabtech coilovers
just got off the phone with fabtech and they told me that their coilovers are made be sway a way, who also makes the race runner. they said that its all in house at fabtech except for the actual shock part is from sway a way. but its mostly a sway a way shock. he also said that their dual steering stabilizers on available now and their brush bar (prerunner bumper) will be available the first of next month.
they also said that the coilovers that they had are from the toyotas were made by fox, but that the sway a way give way better response and that is why they switched. he also said that that could change soon and the coilovers could become all in house.
i am looking for any info on places to purches a mount for the top of a regular coilover to mount to the factory f150 mount. i would like to run the race runner w/ rezzies dual rate. if i can't find one i'll just buy the fabtech. the procomp are made completely in house at explorer procomp.

Thanks for the info! Glad to know they are made by Sway-A-Way. Good quality! Do you know exactly how much adjustment they allow in height? I have heard that with a 6" Fabtech lift, you can go up to 8" total. Did you talk to them about this?

I was at an off road show last weekend and Camburg engineering had a brand new coilover shock for our trucks. Its brand new and not on there web site yet, I think it too is a Sway a way shock it looks sweet, red anodized with a red coil over. I do believe it comes as a kit with a replacement upper A arm and gives a 3" front lift.
here is there site. They dont list the kit for the ford yet but it looks just like the Tundra kit.

I saw the Camburg coilovers at the show too. The guy said that the a-arms would be extra. They looked nice though!
Also, the Fabtech coilovers I saw at the show had "Dirt Logic" engraved into them. Is that the same company as sway-away?

Bullitt, the ones I saw looked just like these.

They had the Fords right next to the Tundras. I would assume they are going to be pretty close to the same price about $950.
Shocks only.

So when you say 950 for shocks only, that means that the coils have to be purchased seperately, right???
The Dirt Logic comes complete, doesnt it? Which would be better, Camburg or Dirt Logic (by Sway-A-Way)????
Thanks!
Camburg definately puts out nice products. I was talking to Jerry (owner) at an off-road race and said he was very pleased with his truck and the way the kit turned out.. Since there is only one other company that offers a LT kit for the new f-1, we figured we would give it a shot and put out a few kits. We should have the prototype done by the end of december.
RR, lookin forward to seein what you guys come up with in December!
Bullitt, it will be about $950 for what you see in the pic, i.e. coilover including coil and nitrogen shock.
You can also get upper arms for about $400.

damn, it looks like the ol' procomp 6" will be for sale here real soon! we all know the quality and performance that camburg delivers,
. looks like i won't be purchising the fabtech dirtlogic coilovers after all. ill wait for the camburg longtravel if the price is comparable to that of the one for the tundra. ill be calling them today.Does anyone know what they add to the tundra LT kit for a 4x4. just thinking maybe i could save $ by keeping components from the procomp. or how high the LT kit lifts the tundra.
the JD Fabrication kit doesn't look that bad either, i just don't know anything or heard anything about them. anyone have any experience with them? hopefully the camburg will be comparable with the size of the jd fab. kit is only a cheaper.

JDFab IMO is one of the best businesses out there. They have come a long way and their work is incredible. The kit we are going to offer will be similar to theirs but with a custom spindle, for the 2wd guys and a stock modified for the 4x4 guys. If I wasn't able to fabricate my own susp. I would definately go with JD.

I'm definitely gettin those fender flares that the JD trucks have on them.
Are those made by JD or are they something that Camburg and Richer can get too?
Also they list them at $400. Is that per pair, not painted?
I don't have the money yet, so that's why I haven't called about this.
