dealer trucks = mod???

My dealer has begun to lift and lower its 2004's??? Anyone elses doing this? Do you think they are doing this to get rid of them to make room for the 2005's?

I haven't seen the pricing to see how much more they are charging but???? at leat 2 - 4 a week are being lifted/lowered

Just about all the Ford dealerships around here have been lifting or dropping the new F150's since the day the first one hit the lot. The charge way too much. 7-8 grand for a 6" Procomp lift and wheels/tires. Their excuse, "you get the factiry warenty!". I can do a heck of alot of fixing myself with the left over money from getting the lift done somewhere else.

I drive by Sunset Ford on Bell Rd in Peoria pretty regularly. Almost all of the trucks I can see from the road are lifted, lowered, have custom rims and grills. I've never stopped to see how much any of them are. Of course they have every other dealership in the immediate area so maybe they're trying to draw attention to themselves.

I bought mine from a Ford dealer last month and they installed the following before putting it on the lot. I wasnt complaining.

Carriage Works Billet upper and lower grill
Tinted front side windows
Rhino bed liner
FloPro dual exhaust with chrome tips (SIDO)
Chrome step bars
Front end leveling kit 2"

The factory warranty would be tempting but I'm sure the markups are outrageous.

I've been shopping multiple dealers to get the best price. Of the three I've been to, only one has modified its trucks. Who knows, though, with the model year-end closeouts. I suspect that one of the two left may also do so, but the dealership I've chosen prices all of their trucks $50 over invoice, then deducts all incentives and any factory to dealer rebates from that. Since they're so price competitive (I've had other dealers get pale when I've asked them to be match it), I doubt they'll do a lot of mods...
