Brand new truck...already have a problem

Picked up the black beauty yesterday about 4:30. Still haven't gotten used to the fact that it's mine yet, I think.

Only one concern...I have the 6 changer/mp3 system, and it was working fine last night. This morning I load up a bunch of
CDs to listen to on the way to work, and I guess the system didn't like one that had MP3s on it, and it spit it out with a "bad disc" message. Ok, I can deal with that...but now, it thinks all of them are bad...even one it was playing last night! I was out in the parking lot, trying to get this thing to work...with no joy.

Anyone have any experience with this? I was wondering if there's a way to "reset" the thing? I didn't even hear the disc's spinning while it was trying to "read" each one. grrrrrrrr

This is irritating, considering how much this truck cost me.

You could try to unhook the battery and reconnect and see if it resets itself, the clock and stations certainly disappear!

and congrats on the new truck you will love it like a family member!!!

There maybe a reset on the back of the radio. I have taken mine out numerous times but didn't really look. I would try the battery first before taking out the radio, lot easier.

Is your truck a 2004 or a 2005.

2004 radios don't play MP3 disk.
It will error to cdrom disk.

Nope, it's a '05....and it's supposed to play MP3s. Now it won't read ANY discs. The dealer is ordering another one, and when it gets here, I'll drive over and have them drop it in.

I never had any worries about the Dealer taking care of me. In fact, I can't say enough about them.....Hillier Ford in Escalon, CA. Great folks....family dealership.

They didn't make any money off of me on this one. I feel kinda guilty. lol

I haven't been flooded with folks talking about problems with the 6 CD changer/mp3 player, so I guess it's just a fluke.

on an slightly unrelated note, whats the 05 radio look like? is it similiar to the 04. Im considering getting my hands on one and replacing my 04 so i can have mp3 capability. Hopefully it would plug n play.

I could be wrong on this....but I think it looks like the audiophile, just without the extra amps and message center functions.

Now it turns out that I have to go down to the dealership to have the CD player removed, then it gets sent to Ford for ??? inspection/repair??? I don't know why they just don't send the dealer another one. Go figure.

Guess I'm driving to Escalon after work today. Hope I don't have a big hole in my dash for TOO long. There goes my clock and radio too.
