I went with the 91 (thats all we cali people have) octane wo/tow. Works great and if you can afford the increase in price, it is the way to go. I will run this for awhile, but will probably go to 87 once I start driving more...

I use the 92 octane, default settings... whats an extra couple bucks at the pump? price is so outrageous these days who would notice. Preformance on this setting is worth it. do not use the tow setting unless you tow alot, otherwise it sux, IMO.

I went with the 91 wo/tow. I wanted to get the most out of this tuner that I could.
My mileage did increase after the tune, but I doubt if it was enough to offset the extra cost of using 91 octane.
I mainly got it so the truck will finally respond to the gas pedal for off the line and down-shifting, but I do like the option of changing the settings for when I get a lift.

I'm stuck on the 91 octane full performance tune. I didn't really notice a difference when I moved from the 87 ocatne to the 91 octane tune, so I went back a few weeks ago. Wow, I really noticed a difference after getting used to the performance tune. The 91 is noticeably more powerful off the line and after a downshift. I decided the 91 perf tune was worth a few extra bucks at the pump, especially with 35" tires and lift kit.

Good point Bob_Parker! You usually wont notice a difference on the gain side, but going back down, your seat of the pants can usaully feel a little stronger.

Are you guys sending your chip in to be reflashed or is the CAN Flasher out yet? I'm ready to order but don't have the opportunity to be without my truck for 2 days.

bigsherm,
You missed all of the MicroTuner posts? Here is the link to the new Microtuner on Troyer's website:
Superchips "MAX" Micro Tuner for 2004 Ford F-series Trucks & SUV's
If you decide to get it, make sure you call Troyer Performance and let them know you are an F150Online member so you can get the (unadvertised) discount price.
There will also be a custom MicroTuner coming out (equivalent to the 9100 used on the prior generation F150s).
