Waag Center Guard

I am thinking about getting the Waag Center Guard. Has anyone here put on this or any of the other Waag grill guards? Especially for a 4x4.
How was the product as far as quality?
Any problems installing? Drilling? Other mods?
Anything that made you wish you had not purchased it?
Thanks.

JohnAndDar, thanks for the info. I just installed it this evening. Looks good except for those couple of small scratches I managed to put in it and my knuckles. Went on fairly easy, although it almost needs two people to do it.

kingfish51,

That's great (except for the scratches). Please post pics when you can. Since I posted that thread link for you, I've been thinking about the Waag guard. If you don't mind posting the info., where'd you buy yours and how much?

Thanks,

I will put pics out as soon as I can. It looks good with the Ford bug shield, Carriage Works billet grill and Waag center guard. Unfortunately, they are calling for rain for the next 3 days.
I got it from www.f150store.com (Moss Motors), for 279.95 plus shipping. That was in the ballpark at all the other sites I looked at. Shipping for that and a set of Ctachall extremes was 23.40. Not too bad considering it was CA to MD and just the grill guard weighed 61lbs.
What I got was the center guard, not the full grille guard, in black. I prefer not having the headlight guards.
After install I found it to be very sturdy, compared to some I have had on previous trucks. On those I could see the foglights wobble when I hit bumps. This feels like part of the frame, no movement whatsoever.
If you have any other questions about the install, let me know.

Took a chance and got a couple of photos between showers. Had to use a flash. Not great pics, but will give you an idea. Posted to my gallery.

Oh...the Moss Motors Catalog. I've got it right by my desk, but I don't dare look through it again...it's too tempting.

Thanks for taking and posting the pics...you went above and beyond, especially with the weather. Looks like a nice addition to the truck.

Thanks,
John

Moss is japanese for evil. I had to lock up my CC's once they started showing up....

Peronally I like the Westin Bull Bar for front-end protection. Just my HO.

Yeah, well, if I were you, I'd get the Westin AND some of that bulletprooof glass that buckdropper's company makes. That way, the bull bar will keep the motorcycles, strollers, and old ladies from trashing your front end, and the special glass will protect your interior in case they get a good bounce up over the hood.

The only thing I don't like about the bull bar is that it looks like you lose your tow hooks. With the Waag, you don't.
