cd-6 player

Hello

Is there anybody out there who could help me out, i purchased a cd-6 player for my scab from a owner who had a lariat screw.
Both units are 04 and orginal Ford.

The cd-6 unit gives me error codes and will not accept a cd,the radio part functions.

In the scab i only have one wire harness plug and from what i gather in the screw there are two at hand.

The dealer states that this unit will not work in my scab,i.e. error codes etc etc. Due to the 1 wire harness plug availibility

However he thinks that there are radio shops out there who can make a modification to resolve this issue.

ANYBODY having encountered this or wants to pitch in,your help is greatly appreciated.

I hope this makes sense. I have an 04 F150 XL Supercab that only came with an AM/FM stereo. I JUST purchased a Ford AM/FM CD/Cassette player off of Ebay. Do I read this correctly that the CD player may not work after I install it?

If I remember correctly, my AM/FM stereo has a single plug on the back and the new unit has a place for two plugs. Have I purchased a unit that won't work in my truck due to a lack of connections?

I wanted to ad a CD player and the cassette would have been great for my XM adapter. Agan, I hope I didn't confuse matters more.

I received my Ford AM/FM CD/Cassette player the other day that I purchased from Ebay and I installed it in my 04 XL. It came out of an 04 Lariat and is a single CD player, not 6. It works perfectly without any error codes. The CD player works great and I use the cassette player for my XM unit. No problems!

I replaced the radio in my 2004 F-150 XL with a 6-CD unit from an XLT. It works fine without any error codes.

It should work just fine,it sounds like you have a defective radio. It doesnt take much for that disc cartridge inside the radio to get knocked out of place. When it does it will say disc error, you need to get the radio fixed,no wiring modification needs to be done.

Will Ford do warranty work on a factory radio that was purchased after the fact? How would they know if you got it from another dealership, ebay, classified, etc.

On something so little as a radio, they probably wouldn't notice the difference as long as it was a Ford part. I'm fighting on EBay for a 6 disc Audiophile unit right now myself.

6-disc changer

My 04 XLT Reg cab came with a single disc/cassette player.I bought a 6-disc player on Ebay and it works fine. My XLT only had one wiring harness plug(4 prong best I remember). The 2 prong plug in on the back of the radio is for the sub-woofer under the seat of the screw. As far as Ford fixing the radio, they usually send you to a nearby radio shop for that,at least that's what they did with me here in Austin,TX. back when I had some radio problems in my 02 screw.

Thanks for the reply. I managed to get the cd out without having to take it to the dealer.
