Time to straighten out the AutoSpring "confusion"

Once upon a time Auto Spring manufactured 3 coil spring spacer kits: A 1 1/2 inch kit, a 2 inch kit and a 2 1/2 inch kit. Auto Spring now only offers 2 kits: A 2 inch kit and a 2 1/2 inch kit. Now here is where the confusion has started.... People are referring to each kit by what the spacer measures. The name of the kit refers to the lift each kit provides NOT the actual measurement of the spacer. I originally ordered the 2 inch kit, the spacer measured 1 5/8ths of an inch. This kit lifted my truck 2 1/4 inches. This was too high for me as I tow 60% of the time. I called Autospring and asked if they could make me the kit no longer offered: the 1 1/2 inch kit. The spacers for this kit measure just under 1 1/2 inches. This kit gave me just under 1 3/4 of an inch of lift. Perfect for me. So guys..... the kits are called 1 1/2", 2", 2 1/2" not because of what the spacer measures but because of the amount of lft they provide. If you want 2 inches of lft get the 2 inch kit, etc. I have had 2 of their kits on my trucks........ I know them by heart. Take care guys.

Thanks for the info! I think I will go with the 2.5" kit for the 04 Lariat 4x2!

That didn’t straighten out anything. When I bought my kit (6-9-04) it was sold to me as a 1 ½” lift kit. It actually measured 1 5/8” and it gave me 2 ¼” of lift.

I bought the 2" kit and it gave me 3" of lift?!?!?!?!? I went from 36-1/2" to 39-1/2" measured in the same driveway with the same tape measure.

Paco, this is common with a spacer lift, they are never exact.
