#@$%! splash guard molded wont fit!

Ordered black Ford splash guard molded for my FX4 4x4 and it doesnt line up and doublecheck a label w/ a bag and it turned out it was for "4x2" argh...

WOnder do you out there use 4x2 splash guard molded on your 4x4??

I m curious, the grey molded, does it match the wheel lips color? I have dark shadow grey FX4 Screw.

Just a little venting

Thanks
YOMAN!

Where does it not line up? I know I had to redrill the rear splash guards because the holes didn't line up. I think others had the same problem.

According to Ford Accessories ther are 4 different models of splash guards. 4x2 with wheel lip surrounds, 4x2 without wheel lip surrounds, 4x4 with wheel lip surround, and 4x4 without wheel lip surround. Obviously where you got them gave you the 4x2, but also may have given you the ones for no wheel lip surround.

That would explain why some of us had to drill a new hole on the rear guards and some of us did not. The fit is fine after I drilled a new hole.

The parts department dude only asked if there was molding. I said yes, it's a Lariat. Nothing was said about 4x4 or 4x2.

I just checked the ones I put on a few months ago. The rear have no marking as far as 4x2 or 4x4. The fronts are marked 4x4. As far as I can remember I had to drill a hole thru the plastic wheel lip molding, but only on the rear. I don't remember having to do this on the front.

Installed mine a couple of days ago. I must have gotten lucky. All holes lined up. The only mod. I had to do was open up the lower holes on all 4. They were not big enough for the push in fastener to go through.

4x4 with wheel lip moldings- 4L3Z-16A550-BAA. That is the ones you want. You will have no problems with these lining up.

I checked mine, the label read 4L3Z-16A550-FAA and the correct part is end of 3 - BAA instead of FAA.

Any one has 4L3Z-16A550-FAA on your 4x4?

thanks
