Xhaust, Intake and level kit

I have a 4.6 want better mileage and a little better sound. What combos do you suggest for Intake/exhaust must be SMOG legal in Cali. It is also a 4x2 and I want it a little bit higher not to much though. I had a 4x4 toyota minitruck for years and this truck is lower than that and bugs me. I like the flowmasters on my stang but I am not sure how they would sound on a single exhaust truck. You want to hear loud cut off the cats on an 01 GT and weld in some cutouts. It will hurt your ears...lol

Anyway, thanks for the help fella's just bought it and I love it just needs some mods. Pics would be great as well

AIRAID intake system is 50 state legal and I like my flowmaster exhaust system with it.

You thought of doing electric cutouts on the truck? I have been debating doing that with my new exhaust setup.

I have seen a couple electronic exhaust cutouts and they have always broke.

I don't think they hold up to well. There are mufflers with eectronic cutouts on them that hold up a little better

Really? That sounds pretty cool, you know who makes them?

Dont remember who made them but I do remember it was a challenge to put them in my buddies stang. I would tell you I could find out but he lives in alabama and I live in cali now.

Anyone have any suggestions on the leveling kits for a 4x2 or are they the same for them as the 4x4's

I will be doing both a leveling kit and a lift in the future. My Lariat 4x2 will get the 2.5" leveling kit and my FX4 will get a 6" lift!

The leveling kits dont mess up ride quality, do they?

Really don't no . After i install mine i will let you know bullitt. If the ride quality is down i may try the shackles and see if thats better lowering the rear. I don't want to compromize ride quality that was a big seller for me in the 4X4 .
