headliner rattle

ok all you guys that have the headliner rattle this is how you take care of it i had the same problem. ok heres the fix where the hanger hooks are there is a metal bracket that holds the hanger in place behind the headliner, the rattle comes from the bracket where it attaches to the roof you have to loosen the bolt let the bracket down enough to get a flat piece of rubber between the bracket and the roof,i did this to mine and no more rattle.the hanger has a flap open it take a small flat screwdriver put it in slot and turn then pull down hanger, pull weather strip down on top of head on each side. then gently pull down head just enough to see screw take long wrench and loosen.

Does this rattle sound like it is coming from the sliding window, or is it a differant one?

I am now having this issue. I thought it was the rear window, but after some pushing, pulling, holding and drinking, I am 100% sure its between the headliner and the roof. If I push up on the interior light, it goes away,

I found this thread by running a search. In fact when you search for 'headliner' in the 2004/2005 Forum, and search titles only, it only comes back with two threads.

Anyone else had this problem and fixed it?

I had thought I had a headliner rattle but what I found out was, the rear seatbelt bolt cover had popped out and was just vibrating. Man it sounded like it was coming from above! Anyway, no more rattle........

Hey Tuff...Yeah I got the rattle. Really bad when you close the door. Just about as bad when you hit a bump or out in the field and drop off a little edge or gulley. Anyway I took my truck in yesterday for the 5000 mile oil change. I told the service manager about the problem. He sat in the truck as I shut the door several times for him. He came up with the same conclusion that the problem was located slightly behind where the drivers head would be, between the roof and the headliner. He suggested I take it to the dealership's body shop and let them have a look and remove the headliner to see whats up. Haven't had a chance to do that as of yet as I've been too busy putting up deer stands! I'll keep ya posted....
