Underdrive Pulley Set Worth It?

Read a little on here afterdoing a search, but there isnt much info on these. Are they worth it? Any noticable power?

Also I plan on lifting on 37's somewhere off in the future, and I noticed Troyer said there were some problems with this. Should I wait tell then?

Thanks!

A little search will show almost all the folks that got the pulleys are satisfied and will testify to the reported 14-20HP gain. For just over a hundred bones, I'm planning on it!

How hard is the system to install? I am thinking of going with some pullies and the E-fan kit.

Underdriver Pullies are a good and cheap way to make real power. There are a few things I have learned first hand concerning them.

There are two types. All in one, and "Piggyback" The piggyback type are often a bit cheaper, but require you to place your factory harmonic balancer back on. If you don't you risk serious damage to your engine. The all in one have a weight or "mass" that function as a ballancer.

If you do decide to put them on, I would recommend swapping out your OEM oil pump gear for a billit one. The oem's are pressed metal, and are prone to braking. Billit gears are a bit pricie, $250 - $300, but it adds a lot of piece of mind.

What does the oil pump gear have to do with under drive pulleys?

One of the pulley's is connected to the oil pump. Undue vibration can lead to a failure of the OEM press metal gear. No oil to the crank and pistons, Bad things happen.

Look at about 9 O'clock on the gear.Oil pump Gear
