Questions on 2004 Lariat Supercrew - Help????
I am looking at a 2004 Lariat Supercrew and have several questions:
1) Does anyone know (or know where to find) the dealer cost on the supercrew chrome running boards and a 5.5 bedliner?
2) I am looking at one truck that has a dealer installed (I think) moonroof?? Is this a good idea, or a bad one? Do they leak and will they reduce the structural integrity of the cab?

I can't speak for 1, but 2 is easy. No. 99.9% of factory moonroofs don't leak. Even aftermarket sun/moonroofs are leak-free, assuming it's done by a professional installer with a good rep. Structural integrity is barely effected. If you roll it, it's the b pillar and others that support the truck, not a hole in the roof. My last worry in the even of a roll over is "I hope that moonroof I got doesn't cost me my life".
thompsdw,
Assuming they're accurate, you might want to check out edmunds.com on the dealer cost.
Here's what edmunds says for the 2004 lariat SCrew options you listed:
bedextender; invoice 166, msrp 195
boards; invoice 298, msrp 350
Note that as an accessory, the bed extender sells for 401.66 msrp.
Westin sells a bed extender that was at least designed by the same company that at least designed Ford's, and a local aftermarket place carries that for less than 300. However, you may have to drill additional holes for that, and the Westin bed extender is aluminum with silver powdercoat, while the Ford bed extender is stainless steel.
My Lariat SCrew didn't come with a bed extender, and after just a week of owning it I've decided I want it, so I've been doing a bit of research yesterday and today.
Good luck... I'm sure you'll love the truck if you go for it.

I have a Supercab, but I looked at the Ford accessory web site and the cost for the chrome step bars (5" elliptical) are the same for the Screws.
I have a relative that is a sales manager at a local Ford dealership. He sold me the step bars at his cost which was $318.15. I paid the invoice that was in his name so I know that that was the actual cost. List on the web site is $424.20.
