2004 off rd performance ?

I have a 2004 xlt 4x4. My question is for those of you who have had yours for a while, how does it perform in the mud, snow, and snowy roads. This is with stock tires. Thanks for the info

DRG3,

Welcome to the forum.

Compared to my '97 XLT 4x4, my '04 had excellent traction in the snow last winter.
Most consider the weight of these trucks to be a negative aspect, but it is a postive factor in the snow.

Good luck,

We had up to a foot of snow here last winter and the truck handled it well...better than my Jeep Liberty did. The Jeep slipped a lot more on ice. In fact one time the Jeep didn't take 4wd then it was supposed to. It started losing grip until I popped it out of 4wd and back in.

I live on a dirt/mud road that climbs a few hundred feet over a half mile. It can get rough, with some big undulations at a climbing turn where it's easy to spin tires. The truck handles the road very well, never losing contact with the road and smoothing out the bumps nicely. It pulls up the hill and through the corner with minimal fuss.

Yes, both the F-150 and Jeep have stock tires on them.
