Question K&N Intake

i was reading the install instructions for the k&n intake and it requires removing the throttle body to install an adapter.

is that similar to the install of the volant or airaid intakes? it just seems weird to have to remove the throttle body.

k&n intake

so there isn't anybody on this forum with the volant or airaid intake that knows if you have to remove the throttle body for installation?

04fx4Scab, you do have to remove the tb to install the adapter. The 45 degree adapter goes between the tb and the intake. I was curious as to why they needed the adapter at all. Why didn't they make the snorkel curved?

I didn't like removing the tb myself. I was afarid of something falling down in there.

I installed an AIRAID intake and there is nothing you put between the Throttle body. The AIRAID intake is really the only one Troyer backs up product wise for the 2004 just FYI.

The AIRAID was super easy to install and I noticed an immediate difference in throttle response and quickness off the line.

I looked at the K&N and AEM, Volant and others but the AIRAID was tailor made to fit the 2004 and works like a charm.
