I too have been thinking of getting me a electric fan for my truck. shopped arround and liked the flex llite duel 15 fans. they push more cfms of air than the ones at troyer and they have a lower start up amperage and sustained amperage draw also. also they are built into there own shroud which seems better to me. right now they only sell a universal version that will fit our trucks which I was thinking of buying but now that I hear from ristuccia that they will have one desighned for our trucks this winter I think I will wait for that one. thanks for the info.

there is several benifits of haveing a electric fan. first increased horsepower they claim up too 20 hp . then next is better gas milage they claim 1-3 mpg. also in the winter your truck will warm up faster becous the fans dont come on till the water temp gets up to the temp you set it up for. those are the magor beenifits. I don't know if I will get 20 hp or 3 mpg gain but if I only get 15 hp and 1 mpg gain I will be happy. I especially like the idea of warming up quicker in the winter as it gets below zero quite often in the winter up here.

I think I am gonna have to wait on the form fitted fan myself from Flexalite.
Anyone ever install an E-Fan? Is it tough or pretty simple for a semi-wrench head? I put on the air-intake by myself and I think I can handle a simple E-Fan install I am just wondering about the electronics end of the installation really.

I have never done it either. but from what I have read the only difficult thing to do is you need some kind of automotive thermal reading tool that reads the temp of the water in the radiator so you can set the fans to come on at the right temp. I too would be interested on knowing how dificult the electronic part of it is to hook up. I hope I don't have to go to a automotive shop to have them hook it up for me.

Easy, cheap, works great. If you pay more then 100$ for a electric fan setup you are a fool.
EDIT: here is my write up i did on F-T-W
Ls1 fan setup, can be found off ebay for 75-100$
Then I went to my local auto parts store and bought a Hayden 3647 Adjustable Thermostatic Fan Control for +-$30. This kit is a 30 amp device that has the a/c relay, so one fan comes on weather the a/c is on/off, while the other comes on/off at a certain temp you preset. I mounted it to the side of the raidator off a bracket I made to help keep it cool and for a cleaner install.
You will also need some extra wiring. Some smaller gauge, but you do want a bigger gauge for the ground wires.
Optional Supply:
Also bought a Littelfuse Mini Add-a Circuit setup. $4 roughly. This is a option because I used a 3 way AOM switch for my 2nd fan.
Taking off the old:
Take off your black cover that fits over the raid etc.(youll know what im talking about). Then you will need to take off the OEM fan. This is a PAIN! If you have the propper tools im sure it would be easy, but I didnt at the time. I used a BIG pair of pliars and a water pipe wrench. It took one person to hold the pliar and one for the wrench. Put the pliars on the bolts that hold the water pump pully on and the pipe wrench on the fan. Once its broke loose you can take it off by hand. Then just undo the 2 bolts that hold on the fan guard and work it out. It takes some work but it can be done without taking the water hose off the raid.
Installation:
The mods I had to do with the fan assembly is cut off the middle tab on the bottom. Also on the side that faces the raid, I widdled down a ridge so the fan assembly will fit snug against the raid. To mount it you could just easily use wire tires, but I chose to bend up some brackets out of aluminium.
As far as wiring it up. I hooked the 2 grounds for the fans and the ground for the Hayden kit to a factory ground point on the passanger side fender. I hooked the red and yellow wire of the hayden kit directly to the battery. The orange and blue wire to each fan, doesnt matter which, it's up to you. The green wire I ran to the driver side of the truck where there is a easy access to a rubber plug. I have not found a good place to hook it up to the a/c yet. So if anyone knows share the information!
Optional install:
I drilled a hole in the access plug and stuck the green wire through, then ran it to a 3 way AOM(auto/off/manual) switch I "hid" under the dash. I hooked a wire to the manual and ran it to the passanger side kickpanel. Then used the Littefuse Mini Add-a-Circuit and hooked it to a fuse that came on and off with the ignition. The auto part I will hook to the a/c when I found a good place to connect too. The reason I used the AOM switch so even if my a/c is off I can still run my fan with the key on. Just something I felt like doing incase the truck would overheat.
Tips:
Use GOOD connections. If you can solder and use heat shrink tubing. You dont want your connections coming undone and/or not contacting well during the summer and causing your fans to go out. Use wire loom to make the setup cleaner looking and to protect the wiring.
I didn't get a chance to proof read this. So if something doesn't make sense just say and ill correct and reply.

It's easy. Nothing to it. Now that I know how to do it, No doubt in my mind I could install another set in under an hour.
