Low fuel level w/1714 Microtuner?

I've been running the 87 octance program. No error codes before or after program install. Everything's been great.

Today I get a low fuel level beep with about 1/8th of a tank left on the guage (I know, I know I shouldn't let the tank go beyond half empty but I want to do the high octane program so this could be a mixed blessing). This is the first time this has happened. Anybody else get this?

Yes, it is supposed to do that. I dont know what size tank you have, different models have different sized gas tanks. Mine has a 30 gallon tank and my low fuel light comes on with about 5 gallons left in the tank. I have the 1714 tuner also and it did this before I reprogrammed it with the tuner and after.

The low fuel level indicator is totally normal.

Ever since I added exhaust and the tuner, mine has been coming on much more often.....but that's because I can't keep myself from stompin on the gas pedal.

Thursday I got the 1714 tuner and loaded the 87 tune. I had about a 1/4 tank of gas so I wanted to run low before filling with 91 to load the performance tune. I decided to try to run the tank dry to see how much was left after getting the low fuel warning. I put a 5 gallon can of 91 in the back to start it up on when I ran out.

When the low fuel indication came on I reset the trip odo. Unfortunately after about 40 miles I chickened out and put the gas in from the can. I was going to be running on the freeway in spots that I did not want to be standing on the side of the road messing with a gas can. Maybe I'll try it again later when the roads are better suited to stopping.
