Power seat problem?

My 2004 Lariat has the captains chairs with the memory seat option (also heated seats). When I press any seat adjustment switch, there is about a 1 second delay before the seat moves. This only happens on the drivers side seat. The passenger seat moves right away when the switch is pressed. Is this normal?

Thanks Thayer. I'll add this to my list of things to have checked when I take it in for the 1st oil change. It seemed kind of odd that it would be designed that way but you never know.

I know this is a really old thread... But, did anyone find out what the fix was on this? My truck just started doing it too, on the driver's side only. I might add it was fine until the seat cover was replaced at the dealership under warranty... So apparently something was re-installed incorrectly...

I have played with the memory seat modules (have a left over memory module and switches from putting power seats in my STX. If there is a detected problem or a code set by a problem in the module, it has some kind of safe mode. Dealer should be able to detect and clear/repair it pretty fast.
