Front End Howl

There is a howling sound coming from under the hood (left side) during hard acceleration. I can hear it when I press on the gas hard, but not hard enough for it to downshift (high RPM muffles the howl). It sounds like its related to the intake of air. If I let off the gas, the sound goes away. Is this common??

Oh yeah, I did read a thread about there being some problems withe the o-ring not being seated at the fender, but I checked and mine is seated correctly. So that's not it.

Any suggestions? Also, I have not modified my intake/exhaust at all -- all stock.

Mine has a whistle if I'm into the pedal more than 1/2 way. Definately intake whistle.

Definately sounds like the same thing I have. Have you taken it in to the Dealer for it? Anyone know if there is a fix?

I've read about a howl/whistle coming from the front of the truck that turned out to be air rushing in around the foglight. Some foam strips stuffed in and around the foglight cured the problem.

Could that be your problem?

I don't have fog lights, so I don't think that's the problem.

Any other ideas?
