Public Transportation for a week
Public Transportation for a week
This afternoon I drop the truck off for the Procomp 6" lift install. After months of waiting its finally getting done.
A shop in Fredericksburg, VA is doing the work.
Installing:
Procomp 6" Stage I
(painted Red with a chrome Procomp logo on the front cross member)
Red Procomp ES9000 rear shocks (black boots)
Red brake calipers (painted)
BFG 35" All Terrain Tires
Eagle Alloys Series 186 17x9 Wheels
Oh and a small reason the truck loses a little power with the lift is because the damn thing weighs about 200lbs. Had to carry all the painted components and tires into the truck this morning at 5:30am.
So until they finish (expected Friday) I am stuck riding DC metro to and from work. Should look great when its all done though. Many pics to follow...

EggyG,
It sounds like it will be worth the wait. Do you plan on changing the gears with the bigger tires?
I'm looking forward to the pics. You'll be like a kid waiting for Christmas all week long...

Can't wait to see the pics Eddy. How sweet it will be to get behind the wheel of your reborn rig after a week of public transport hell.
So are you getting bigger badder brakes as well or just slappin' a coat of paint on the stockers? It would be a shame to shed all that brake dust on those purdy new wheels of yours.

For now I am going to paint up the stockers. Eventually I will put better rotors and pads on em but I want to see how well they perform first.
I looked into new calipers and damn are they expensive! More than the lift.
John, as far as gearing, I have the 3.73 so I will stick with that. But like I mentioned in another post. I am taking the truck to Ford asap for them to recal the computer for correct shift points and speedo. They strongly suggested it done to keep the truck "within specs" and under the warranty umbrella. I dont want to take any chances so I will pay them the 100 bucks to fix the computer and shifts. If the truck is still draggin after the 1714 SC tuner I will think about gearing. I just know once I do that I cant get any support on the warranty of the rear end.
