Anyone tried the Superchips with the 4.6?? I'd like to get one, but not till I see some actual user feedback.

Any change in mileage? You say you had one...why did you get rid of it?

Thanks

I had one for a real short amount of time . Due to the tuner being defective I sent it back for repairs . I didn't have it long enough to test fuel mileage or anything . If your into modding and/or just wanna unleash the true potential your 4.6 has then get it . It also can read codes and clear them .I'm waiting for mine to come back from Superchips who are in Florida land o hurricanes . May be a while .

I've had mine for a few days now and this thing's not all I thought it was going to be. I have a Super Crew w/ the 4.6 any improvements are minimal at best. Granted I am still on the first tank of gas so the only tune I've tried so far is the 87 octane. I will have to fill up either tomorrow or the next day and plan on trying the Hi Performance tune just to check it out.

The two positive things I have to say about the tuner are the shift points are much better now than stock and I like the idea of being able to read the error codes should I ever have a problem. The new shift points really do help when accelerating to get on the freeway.

turn the overdrive OFF and then try getting on the freeway, superchips NO superchips, doesn't matter. turn the overdrive OFF then try getting on the freeway.... i'm running the 4.6 and the thing simply screams.... no need for any chip just a better exhaust
and maybe better breathing, but the beauty runs AWESOME..

If you thought it was so great, why did you sell it?

I dont recall stating that I was expecting "AWESOME" gains, but I did expect a bit more than what I got. And I did say the shift points are much better now. Was that worth the money? I dont think so, but I'm keeping it anyways. As stated above, I also like the ability to read the error codes.

shane,
Here is the link to the 1714 at Troyer Perfromances's website.
Here is a thread you might also want to check out:
Superchips Max Microtuner for the 2004 V8 F150 Trucks Available

If you think you are interested in the 1714 from Troyer, I really recommend that you call them directly to go over any questions you have. If you decide to order from them, call them and let them know you're an F150Online member to get the best discount on the microtuner.

I hope that helps.
