Questions on DVD for rambunctious

It seems that rambunctious is the resident expert on the rail system, so.... I have a few questions for you (or anyone that may know).. I want to put a DVD system in my 04 Screw, I prefer to do the factory one.. Not a problem on wiring ect.. I dont want to run the audio to my factory deck, just want to use the headsets. .. so where can I get one?? How much?? Any information would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

the factory dvd will not operate stand alone without at least the cummunication (canbuss) connected to the vehicle audio.( this is a theft deterent, similar to some radio's going into lock mode when disconnected from the battery source)
The very first application of the DVD in my personal truck required the electrical engineer to reflash a special softare package onto my DVD. we use this software package at work to make the dvd's operate on thier own for our autoshow, SEMA and other customer demos. We did this in my vehicle so we could compare the sound qualty of an fm modulator piping in the
DVD audio to my truck.

But now i have the aftermarket harness which we will soon be offering through ford. this and the original software is now the factory setup for my truck. the sound is superior and all the dual control and play mode features are enabled.

so, to answer your question. You can now officially order a new warrantied factory dvd through genuine ford accessories, But you will either need the "prewire kit option" available on the 05 trucks or the aftermarket harness that we are SOOOOOO close to getting released, but is not yet quite available.
I would not spend the money on the DVD until you hear from me that we have the harness though, as these things seem to take forever to get through the system.

A few people have managed to snag a factory dvd from personal sellers on EBay for about 1/2 the retail price, but they sit with them doing nothing until the harness gets released.

hope this helps
