Yoman,
I originally had my truck undercoated at a local truck accessories shop ($150.00) but re-sprayed the inner-fender area with the undercoating in a can made by 3M due to some "chips" I noticed. To tell you the truck, I really couldn't tell the difference.
Previously when I took my truck in to get the raildust buffed off, I asked the body shop mgr how much would they charge for the undercoating. He replied that it depends on how many cans they used. At the time I wasn't impressed that they used spray cans and automatically assumed their undercoating was an inferior product. I guess I was wrong. After I re-sprayed the fenderwells I haven't had one chip or peel. I also think that I did alot better job of containing the overspray and ensuring that all parts were equally coated...Live and Learn....

Deaslerships use undercoating out of cans but it isnt spray cans. You unscrew the top of the can and screw the can onto a special undercoating gun then spray a vehicles underside. Just some info in case you were wondering.

Blazing Yellow in rear fender wells, couldn't stand to look at anymore. Partial can of 3M undercoating and numerous power washes, still looks great.

3M makes a very durable undercoating in the can. Other uses in body shop i worked at was as a chip guard on the out side bottom of car side. This would match the factory chip guard and it can be painted. It's under my 67 also. The heavy density of the under coating does not create as much over spray as a can of paint.

I got a can of "rubberized coating" spray from wal mart for $250 and sprayed inside my rear wheel wells (say that 5 times really fast, lol) and it didn't even use the whole can for both wells. It seems like it worked great. No chipping or peeling or anything and it looks a whole lot better then yellow under there.

I have an '04 Screw and recently had a Line-x sprayed in it. While it was there I asked them to do the wheel wells and they told me that it wasnt worth the expense. They too recommended 3M rattle can undercoating for the wheel wells. So thats what im going to do this w/e.
A neat trick to keeping over spray off of your truck while doing this is to wax the truck, but dont wipe off the haze. Undercoat the truck, then when your done, wipe off the wax. The hazed wax wiill keep anything from sticking to your paint.

I too got the black rubberized paint for the rear wheel wells. One can covered both sides and I had a little left over. I think I got it from AutoZone for $3 or $4.
I didn't go so far as to do the entire undercarriage. I don't think it's needed.
Did any of you guys include the body section in front of the rear wheel well as far forward as possible? Ford doesn't say their body parts are all galvanized like GM does, so if this section on trucks rusts through from the inside then you know it.

I sprayed down my driveshaft with the rubberized paint, and a lot of the undercarriage, where I knew that I couldn't get to clean a lot, because I just wanted to make sure that the bolts didn't rust.
