Decided on tonneau

After following some threads and doing a bunch of searching on the net I decided on getting the Truxedo Lo Pro for my FX4 Screw. Just ordered it and it is to be in by Tuesday. Seems to have the best balance of features and looks over the others. The Access took a very close second, but doesn't seem to be as waterproof.

I think you will be happy with the Truxedo. That's what I got. Installation was quick and painless enough. I didn't buy the soft cover to be COMPLETELY waterproof but the Lo Pro has been just that so far.

I drove from FL to TN last week and experienced some rain but never got a drop on my luggage.

I'm sure that other soft covers work just as well but the truxedo has done the trick for me.

Do either of you have any good pics of this cover installed on your truck or like a good product photo from Truxedo? I can't seem to find any god pics of either.

I am also torn between the Truxedo and the Access. This is for my Dad's new 04 F150, he had the Access on his 01 S-crew and was more than happy with it. But like you said, teh Truxedo advertises its water-tight feature which the Access doesn't advertise.

Where did you end up ordering from too? I found the Access for $359 and the Truxedo for $409 from www.carmicdirect.com. Seems to be teh cheapest so far.

I'm in Canada and found a fair price from a local shop...$636 cdn delivered For the Truxedo Lo Pro. Works out to about 450 US. I wouldn't be able to import it for that price. Shipping and brokerage fees are a killer.

As for pictures if you click on his link above to his photo album he has some pics that show it fairly well.

Here are some pics of the Access Limited on my flareside.

Ive been really pleased with its water shedding capabilities. I dont know if it is totally waterproof, since the bedrug kind of hides the moisture.

The single thing I like about my new TRUXED Lo-Profile is, its a "low profile" which means its level with the bed rail, and watertight, bought mine last week for $369.00 delivered to Miami.

hey robnton

I have the same bedliner and am getting a low profile truxedo this week. Did you have to do any trimming or anything to the bedliner?

Any suggestions before i tackle the job?

thanks!

Chris

I don't have a bedliner, I have the BedRug... but absolutely NO trimming needed on that......
I just didn't like drilling 6 holes thru the bedrail for the Truxedo...
although I've had zero problems.

I also have the Truxedo LoPro on my '04 Screw. Very nice fit with no leaks either. My local truck accessory shop was $401 incl. tax & install.

Anyone know how well the Truxedo low profile holds up to snow and ice on top of it? I'm considering getting one before xmas but I'm worried about how well it will deal with winter here in Rochester. All that weight from the snow and ice can't be good.

My Dad's Access on his 01' Screw held up fine to the Kansas Ice/Snow for 2-3 years. He just got a Truxedo for his 04, so we will see how it holds up!
