dimples
dimples
sup guys, my new truck just got a couple of dimples and scratches from a "bowtie" dude who turned too close when making a left turn!! whatta nerd, he was probably looking to hard at how my truck looks better than his, and lost control of his chevy!!! anyways, my question is this,....when i get it repaired by this retard's insurance, will the bodyshop replace my chrome bumper with oem? i was thinking that it is impossible to pullout a bent chrome piece without it becoming a weak point on the bumper. plus, how could they smooth out the scratches and dimples on chrome? and last BUT not least, do you guys recommend taking it to the ford dealer and have their bodyshop fix it? any help would be appreciated.
Say ultimate I managed Dealer body shops for 8yrs. That depends on the crew ask to see some work . I take mine to a independent shop in a mishap. I found them by seeing there finished work on a couple cars and knew they did fine repairs. I had them fix my 03 flare (daughter learning ) and they did a supurb job of bringing it to pre accident condition. The key is locate a shop that does what you expect and ask questions like what parts they remove to refinish and what are their guarantee"s . Also most insurance will replace a new factory part on new models under three yrs old.
ultimatewarrior, I had my tailgate vandalized to the tune of $680.00. I took it to the dealer I bought the truck from and they did an excellent job. Ask around and try to find others that had good experiences with bodywork, because word of mouth recommendations are usually reliable. Good Luck
I know everyone and their brother likes to bitch about a job done poorly and thus, I'd call the Better Biz Bureau for your area and ask about a few of your 'final choice' shops.
