Lightbulb 1/4 Mile run time!

Ran my truck twice at the local drag strip last weekend....
I put the pedal to the floor from start to finish on both runs.

Here is what it got...

17.003

16.870 with O/D off

SCAB FX4 133 373 LS

6080.0 was my mileage at the track.

The only mod is borla cat back everything else is stock. I wanted to get some run times before I order my intake and tuner. Then run it again after those mods. I know it is no race truck; I am just looking for measurable results.

Anyone else got a 1/4 mile time on their truck???

Thumbs up Run Times

Cool- I am interested in your results, as I have just started considering the intake, exhaust and tuner.

Let us know how it turns out!

n99gt,

Here are the stats you are looking for:

First Run

R/T - .670
60 - 2.457
330 - 7.066
1/8 - 10.953
MPH - 63.75
1000 - 14.241
1/4 - 17.003
MPH - 81.17

Second Run

R/T - .770
60 - 2.485
330 - 7.035
1/8 - 10.868
MPH - 64.55
1000 - 14.125
1/4 - 16.870
MPH - 81.59

Keep in mind, I plan to compare these numbers to another run with an Air Force 1 intake and superchips performance tune.

It should be interesting to see what "real world" performance gains come with these mods.

I am not so sure that a dyno run would be a true test of the performance, due to the advanced electronic setup of the truck.

Alrighty! Will be interesting to see the timeslips after the performance upgrades. There's nothing like documentation

Hey ford2004F150, did you ever get into third gear in the ¼ mile?
I got a 3.55:1 rear and I think I’m still in second at 85 mph.

Third gear was achieved during these runs....

Not that it matters to some, but these runs were done a 3:30 AM at a temp of 75 degrees. Ideal temp for a good street vehicle run.

Thanks, I was just curious about that since you got a 3.73:1 rear gear

I have a V8 Gt40 Mountaineer w/ 3.73s that ran a 9.75 at 71mph. It is hard to believe that my car is a full second faster to the 1/8 mile than a sc fx4. I guess it's the weight. The Mountaineer would JUMP off the line though!!

There’s probably a 1,000 lbs or more difference in weight. What’s your curb weight on the Mountaineer?

i think it is 4200. but the f150 has more horsepower/torque. a second in the eighth is 100 horsepower or a thousand pounds. Yeah, i guess youre right. It just doesnt seem right though...

03F15054FX4,

Jeez Dude!

What did you expect?

First off this is no race truck, it is a FX4 that is very heavy and is mostly stock.

I would think these numbers are a true reflection of the drive-by-wire setup on the truck and how slow the system really is......

Say ford2004 i think thats great numbers considering size of truck. I can't wait to see what a intake and supertuner do either. The drags are the only place to see a difference when things get added.

The tuner is going to help that 60 time out, and in the end I bet you cut close to a .5 second off that 1/4. Keep us posted...

I also have the Tuner and the Flowmaster exhaust I am deciding which Intake to get but I want to make a few passes in my FX4 aslo.
