I have a 2004 fx4 screw 5.4. Has anyone noticed a smell that is like a leaking antifreeze smell. I have looked all over and can't seem to find anything. I occurs at random especially slower speeds. Fluid is not low and I have put 1300 miles on it.

Also I have gray cloth interior. It seems to stain with everything that touches it. Has anyone got any suggestions on what to treat it with that will prevent this.

 

If you smell anti freeze it's leaking some where go to you Dealer.Scotch guard or don't eat in your truck is all for the interior.

 

I had the same thing... I took it to the dealer, they found nothing...
IMHO the problem is with the coolant tank being next to the freash air intake near the firewall... I put a big sponge in it and fixed the problem
