Clicking Steering Wheel?

If you turn on your truck and keep all accessories off and the windows up, then for example back up slowly, while making a couple rotations of the wheel, do you notice any clicking sounds in your steering column? You have to make a couple quick/constant rotations of the wheel to hear it. Not just a slight turn of the wheel.

I had a steering wheel rubbing problem last winter and had the column replaced. I didn't know if this was related to the new column installation or if everyone's does it.

Please let me know.

It's another one of those mysterios sounds that from past experiences might be better off left alone.

I hear the same noise, but to me its not worth having it in the shop for a week trying to isolate the noise. Turn the radio on and you forget the noise is even there. Just my two cents.

That's usually what I do. It would have to be pretty bad for me to take it in. With all the little noises these trucks make, I could probably make my own music with the noises, rather than use the radio.

Maybe the song by Saliva, "Click Click Boom" is dedicated to the 2004 F-150?
