Question All F-150 Owners ...!

How reliable is the OHC of the 5.4L? Is it more economical to go with than the 4.6L? I have always been a push rod fan untill i heard about the quality of a Ford. Is it true. To all F-150 Lariant owners

The 5.4 is a very solid motor. Many miles racked up by millions of owners. Buy it and you will be a happy camper. The 4.6 is bulletproof as well, but lacks power on the heavier variants of the F-150.

Gas milage will vary. I get 15-15.5mpg out of every tank and I don't drive 55. I've heard of 4.6's with this milage... hell, I had the 4.6 in my 99 expy and got worse mpg's!

I'm on my fourth 150 with the 5.4. They are by far the strongest most reliable engines that I've experienced. Very few problems heard of. The new 3v is a trooper by itself. I love mine.

I went 130Kish in my '97 5.4 before a plug blew out. I might have had something to do with that, I tuned it up myself around 100K or so. Now it's at 155K, only thing I've had to replace as of late is a PFE sensor and the PCV tube.

I'm gonna upset if I don't see at least 150K trouble free miles out of my 5.4 3V.

I love the 5.4 3v. Really smooth, and although I don't have a crystal ball, it feels like it's going to last a long, long time.
