New 3157 Clears

Ok, I was sitting outside my garage last night and thought about how much I dislike those amber turn signal bulbs for the front. I popped the hood and found the connection and looked at the bulb. They were simply 3157's! I say this because I worked at a nationwide auto parts store and these were fairly common....1157's, 2057's, etc. So I drove to the parts place today during lunch and bought a new set of Sylvania 3157 CLEARS. Looks MUCH cleaner IMO and I can't wait to see what they look like at night. Hopefully they won't blind anyone, but it looks like a quad headlight setup now...kinda like the Expy's. Anyway's, just wanted to post something that I can add to my modded list.

Which silverstar bulb is everyone buying for the turn signals? When I looked there were like 7 different 3157XX styles, all having different ending numbers where the XX are. Did you all get the same part number as stock, the 3157AK, or do they all pretty much work, thanks!

How do you get by without amber turn signals?

I thought it was required by law to have amber turn signals on the front?

How visible will the clear turn signal be in the daytime?

The bulb is clear, but the filiment lights up amber, therefore it is legal for use in our trucks.

And as I asked before, is everyone finding the exact match for stock number, 3157AK, or just buying a similar 3157XX Bulb?

I used bulbs made by IN-PRO CAR WEAR. It is part #CWB-3157CA. They are a chrome bulb and lights up in a amber(yellow) color. The chrome bulb during the day time looks awesome. I payed like $10.00 for the pair. I got the from STILLEN. www.stillen.com

I thought about the clear turn signals being legal, but I see all types around the area. I looked at the Sylvania amber colored bulb and it was 3157AK in the package. I bought the long lifes and the filaments light up clear when they flash and the glass is clear, but dim, almost a vanilla color when the park lights are on. I thought they would be brighter at night, but I think I'm going to put the ambers back in. Just an experiment that fizzled out.

Is there a replacement bulb for our fog lights as well _ I mean the ones that have a bright bluish tinge to them?
