cd/tape deck and AUX button?

are there any rca jacks on the back of the stereo? I'm wanting to hook up my laptop through it, I have a monster fm modulator but it isn't all it is cracked up to be.. only plays through passanger side most of the time.

Thanks
Chris

Check these sites. They create an adaptor that ties into your factory harness...

http://www.pie.net/

http://www.pac-audio.com/

I haven't searched for specifically for 04 F150's, but a quick phone call may answer your question.

I would like to know too. There must be a way because I believe the DVD option plays thru the stereo.

COvered before but ...

This has been well covered in the past and the archive will give you the full story but in short...

There are NO current shipping solutions to enable the aux in on the oem head units. Ther are also no rca style jackc on the oem decks.

Johnson Controls is working with Ford to release an item called the DVD input pre-wire harness that will do it but we have no date for availablity yet.

In the aftermarket space blitzsafe and soundgate are working on similar harnesses but I do not beieve there is any CURRENT shipping product.

So if you want this now FM moduation is about the only option. Your results may vary with different products out there.

dlewis.... is mostly correct

but the prewire kit (available for 05) and the accessories harness we are working with ford on (for 04 or any 05 that didn't come with the prewire option) enables the factory dvd (which we make) it will not work to plug in just any aux input directly.

this is because the radio uses a communication protocol called CANBUSS. which our DVD is engineered to use to communicate with the radio..

if you get a DVD. it has RCA aux inputs. one touch of the radio aux button gets you to the DVD, a second touch is for the DVDs aux input. this is how i play my satellite radio on my personal truck .

hope this helps

thanks Ram. Nice to hear from you again. Any dates for the prewire and accessory harness yet.

Johnson Controls should do a bluetooth adapter for the cannbus audio system and do a ipod dock that snaps into the ashtray and connects via cannbus.

My understanding is that the modules from Soundgate and Blitzsafe will work within cannbus to supply one rca input on first press of aux. I'm not sure about if they will have multiple inputs (dvd and an open RCA) like the oem setup.
