A/C has low rpm "growl"

Anyone here experience a/c "growl" or slight vibration at idle. Basically when I initially start my truck and turn the a/c on, as soon as the rpm's drop to 800 I feel a low vibration when the a/c compressor cycles. Has anyone else experienced this and is it normal. I'm going in on Friday for a dash rattle and if this isn't normal I'll have the service dept check it out too.

Thanks, Jerry

Mine has the exact same issue, even after all of the "reflashes" it is still present. When the A/C is off, I have a somewhat rough idle.

I would definitely have it checked out. My A/C doesn’t have any sound like that or a rough idle.

Definitely have it checked out. Your problem sounds different from the one I had. Mine had a noise when you turned the a/c on high, then got progressively worse. Took it in and the dealer replaced the fan cage and the fan motor. Working like its supposed to now. Good luck with yours.

Thanks for the replies. I'll definately have it checked out on Friday when I go in for the rattle. I just needed some re-assurance that it was a legitimate concern.

Thanks again, Jerry

Mine does this to. When the A/C is on and and the rpm's hit around 800-900, I get that low growling sound. But its only around this rpm. Just off idle. Please let us know what you find out...Mike
