Does anyone know what the purpose of the "Power door lock/unlock disable feature" is for. Page 86 of the owners manual

I haven't read that page specifically, but I know there is a disable on the doors sothat you can lock it with the keys in the ignition. From the factory, if your keys are in the ignition (engine running or not) the doors will automatically unlock themselves. Sometimes you want to lock the doors with the engine running (delivery vehicles, cabs and cops etc)

This could be what that page is referring to.

I believe this is if you do not want the doors to automatically
lock when you place the vehicle in gear and move forward or backward. You can disable this feature if you feel it is not necessary.

It pays to read the manual I guess.

This "feature" has been a sore point for me whenever I go to open the passenger door and it's locked after I stop the truck and am unloading.

I'm disabling this tonight, thanks for the info.

I love the auto lock feature, but an auto unlock would sure be great. I know most people would not like it, but if you have kids like me, I always forget to unlock the doors when I get out. Just an annoyance.

Turned mine off as soon as I pulled into the yard, as well turned off the seat belt alarm. Just little things that annoy me. I don't have any kids and usually make short trips in the yard or around the farm and don't need the doors locking or the seat belt alarm going nuts if I don't belt up.

The power door lock/unlock disable feature is not related to autolocking (automatically locks doors when vehicle begins to move) or smart unlocking (unlocks driver door if key left in ignition).

This feature makes the power door lock switches inoperable 20 seconds after the vehicle is locked. Why would you want this feature? I guess if you're worried somebody is going to reach into your locked vehicle and try and unlock it using the power door lock switch.
