New 2004 F-150 Owner!

I traded my 2003 Nissan Xterra 4x4 in on a 2004 Ford F-150 STX 4x4. The rebate was so huge I wasn't upside down going into the new truck. The sad thing is that I took the Nissan into the dealer for some warranty work that morning. They gave me a hard time about it and the customer service was very crappy. I was really mad so I pulled out of Nissan and went up the road about two hundred yards to the Ford place and drove out with my new truck. While at the Nissan dealership I inquired about trading on a new Titan and they worked up the numbers and told me they could only give me about $13,500.00 for my Xterra. I told them where they could go. Ford gave me $17,950.00 for it. That plus the rebate and I was scott free of the Xterra. I love this truck. It's awesome!

I do have a question though. What is the largest size tire I can put under this thing on the original 17" wheels without rubbing and needing a lift kit? Thanks in advance!

congrats on the new truck!

'nanners for you!

People have gone to 285 easily. If you do a thread search you will see how far they have gone. I'm not 100% sure, but I think someone has gone to 305 (this was done easily on the pre-04 model)

How did you like your xterra? any mechanical problems? I am looking at purchasing one fairly soon and was curious as to how it held up for you.

P.S. and congrats on buying one incredible truck!!!

Well it was a nice SUV but greatly underpowered and my new F-150 gets better gas mileage than that 4wd V6 Xterra did. Also, the reason for trading it was due to bad front wheel bearings at on 35,500 miles. That's crazy. Anyway, NISSAN is notorious for having very bad customer service so if you do go that route, just keep that in mind.

Congratulations on your new truck, thats funny that the Nissan stealership could have moved a Titan but they cheaped out on your trade in. What kind of mpg were you seeing on the Xterra? I was reading somewhere lately someone saying how superior to Ford Nissan customer service was and I remember thinking sure it is... Enjoy your truck, they are great.

Congratulations on the new F150 dcrhaekte
I’m sure you will enjoy it. I’ve had my 2004 F150 for 10 months now and it is totally trouble free, it’s perfect!
