First I'll describe My 04 F150 which was Built on 01/22/2004

It's a Supercrew 4X4 5.4 3V with a 3.55 L/S Rear Axle running on 255/70/17 POS General Tires

I first Noticed a Steering Wheel Tremor at 75 MPH Which became Noticeable at 70 MPH when I took it in for the First Service.

The Following was done:

Driveshaft & Damper Ordered & Installed a Week later
After the Parts are installed While Doing the test drive the Shop Foreman notices a whine/shutter in the Rear Axle [New Gears Ordered]

Couple of Days Later I Noticed the Vibration was Much Worse & at 65 MPH the Steering Wheel SHOOK terribly

Back to the Dealer & they have the Tires Roadforced Balanced & 3 Failed & 1 Passed barely & a Gear Asy. for the Rack & Pinion was ordered

1 Week later Parts are in. Done are the Rear Axle & Rack & Pinion, Test Drive & it still Shaking Bad So Another Roadforced Balancingis ordered & the "okay" Tire is Now found to be bad & is replaced

Test Drive & All is Well for 300 Miles When I notice a Tremor in the Steering Wheel at 75 MPH. If this gets worse it'll be back to The Dealer

I believe those POS Generals are going to go Snaky AGAIN

To any of you guys with vibration problems has the dealer checked the pinion angles of the drive shaft to U-joints to insure they are to factory specifications? If not that “could” be a possible cause for vibration at different speeds and sometimes no two trucks are a like as to where they may begin to vibrate if the pinion angle is not within specifications…
