Warm Window and Door Lock Switches

Hi, I'm new to this place and Liked what I saw so I thought I might join in the fun. I have a 2004 xlt 4x4. I have a few questions though. Has anyone else noticed that the switches on the drivers side door get warm? Mine feel warm to the touch after about 10 minutes of driving. Also, when starting from a dead stop it feels a little hesitant. Is this normal or is there a problem lurking. THe biggest complaint I have is the windows make an awful noise when the air is humid. It is the rubber rubbing on the windows. The dealership told me if they replaced it it wouldn't help and that I need to wear it down. Sorry for dumping all of this.

Thanks,

Jansen

Welcome to the site..
Congrats on the new truck..
Did you have the dealer diagnos the warm switch issue ?
Are you trying to jackrabbit when you start or are you easing away from the line? During break in on my truck i would take my foot off the brake, let it roll a little under it's own power then accelerate. I did that for the first 1k, something stupid about the computer learning how you drive
Do a search and you'll find folks talking about these things. Same
thing with when you disconnect the battery, you have to wait a little while then reteach the computer again ? Sounds far fetched
( and probably is ) but you'll get plenty of insight and answers
here on this site if you search well enough, check out the different
forums and you'll see.. Good luck. .....

My switches stay warm but, on the way to Texas they got down right hot (in between the four window buttons). That and the long right tailgate cable are the only two problems I've had so far.

I don't give the truck much gas when taking off. I don't let it run under its own power then go either. I take off slow and it does its thing but when I take off a little quicker the studder doesn't feel as bad and if the truck is rolling, as if I would let it roll under its own power, then I give it some gas it doesn't seem to do it at all. Any ideas? I have 1200 miles on the truck and I believe it was made in June I'm thinking in virgina.

thanks

Jansen
