Prerunners

Guys, I am thinking about putting a set of front and back prerunners on the truck after the lift. I have a Black XLT (chrome bumpers), and I could use some help deciding...should I go with Stainless (polished) bars over the front and rear chrome bumpers, or do you think the black contrasting the chrome would look better (they are a little cheaper too). Not sure how I like the chrome over chrome look and the black over chrome on a black truck might look hot. I do run stainless tube steps too.
What do you all think...do these shoes match this dress....lol

EddyG,

Sounds cool man. I too am into the baja/prerunner style trucks hence the name baja150.

I've been thinking about getting a front bar myself. I too have a black truck w/ chrome bumpers. I would go for the black prerunner bumper myself.

Are you going to make them/have them made or are you going to buy a bolt on? The only bolt on I've seen is made by N-FAB and I don't really like how it looks on the 04 F150. I think the center hoop should be lower, wider, and angled more inwards.

Anyways... let me know what you decide. If you're going to have one made maybe we can decide on a design and maybe save some money for buying two.

Good luck.

Hey, thanks for the input. I agree with you 100% on the N-Fab one (I think you and I brought up prerunners before). They made it too big and oddly shaped...your right.
I too like the black on chrome so I probably will go with that.
The closest thing to what I want right now is the Prerunner on the CST truck (Orange and Black F150) on their website, but I cant get any info on it. The thing is I want a matching rear prerunner too.
More and more I have been looking at the SmittyBilt Predator series. They are more of bumper gaurds but still have that prerunner upper bar and some protection for when I am driving in the city. They look pretty slick and have a nice rear runner as well.
What do you think about those?

JD Fab has some "prerunner" style trucks they have built. Here's the link for some ideas.
