Question Loose floormat bracket

The little plastic bracket that holds my floormat has come loose. All that's holding the clip in place is the carpet. Anyone had this problem on this or any other Ford with the same setup?

Any way to beef it up a little bit? What about something that will work well to stick it back down? Not a big deal, but kind of annoying. Plus, I don't want it to stretch out or unglue the carpet surrounding the clip.

Thanks.

DUCK

I have a brand new F150 S-Crew w/700 miles, the "hook" on the floor lifts up, I thought it was a design flaw (and could easily see how the carpet could get pulled "out") so I un-hooked the floor mat.

Hmmm, I'll be curious to read what others have to say, and what solutions if any.

Other than not having a gear readout (P-R-N-D-2-1) on the dash, these are my only two complaints/issues (knock on wood) so far.

I noticed this when vacuuming yesterday. Seems it isn't connected to anything but the carpet beneath it.

Add it to the list of "what else can we cheap out on with the 2004???"

Never had an issue with the clip in my '01. That baby was solid as a rock. Maybe it had to be that way since the floormats were actual real mats; not the POS worthless postage stamps they put in the '04s.

Anyone know how to remove that little clip without ruining the carpet? I'm scared to mess with it too much for fear of pulling the carpet up. I have Nifty Catchalls so I don't need the clip anymore.

Mine does that as well. I am not sure if it was like that from the get go or not, hard to tell, but its definitely worse now. The Catch-Alls should fix that problem.

Thanks, y'all. (selfishly) glad to see it's not me. The one in my '00 Lightning was solid as a rock, too. One of the ONLY things I liked about my Sequoia is that the bracket and grommet around the hole in the mat were both metal - NEVER moved at all. I was planning on ordering some catch-all or similar mats, guess I'll have to do that sooner than planned.

Wink

Received my Catch-All mats front & rear yesterday. They are great!

They cover everything and fill the driver's side so much that the subject "hook" we are discussing isn't relevant. Debating on whether to "screw" in the holder clips that come with the Catch-Alls.

Catch-Alls are one of the things on my list to do for this truck. After seeing how flimsy the clip is, it moved up a couple of spots. The biggest trouble that I am having is trying to find a Canadian dealer that supplies a lot of aftermarkey accessories, like catch-alls, bed covers, Billet Grills, etc. I dont have very much money as it is and dont feel like getting hosed paying big money for shipping and duty. So if there are any other canadians reading this thread, please do me a favor and drop a link to where I can find a good canadian retailer

Does anyone know where the thread with the link to the catch-all dealer went? There was one from just the other day where someone was discussing the color difference in Catch-Alls and Ford carpet, but I can't find it. I want to order some today.

EDIT: Nevermind - found it.

to the best of my knowledge, the clip is threaded into the carpet only.

if your is loose, take it out and re-thread it into the carpet.

Got my carpeted Catch-Alls yesterday and I LOVE them! Thanks for the tip, y'all. Like everyone says, the color doesn't match but still looks good. If you don't have them and are having problems with your stockers, ORDER SOME TODAY!
