Headers Anyone?

i noticed JBA coated headers for sale for the 5.4 3v. Dose anyone have them on yet?

if so what hp increase are you seeing. any TQ loss in lower rpm?

And how much louder did you interior get/ and the Exhaust noise?

Expanded Thread

I'm glad to see this come up. As long as we are going to talk headers on the new 5.4L 2004, has anyone done both headers and exhaust for a complete system? I don't mean to dillute the original header question, just thought we could discuss headers and the entire system in one thread.

If not ... sorry for the "Thunder Theft" ... just stick with the headers issue.

no prob. i have been interested in this topic for a while and dont see much info come out of it other than the older f150s.

We'll keep this open to the topic of headers for the 04 f150 and hopefully we can get some info on it.

i'll keep bumping this topic to keep it noticed

I have jba shorty headers and a gibson (I think extreme) catback dual side exhausts. Don't need the ceramic coated jbas as there is plenty of clearance and I haven't noticed that the run hot. Headers are a pain to install on passengerside. Took my mechanic (Colorado Performance) 10 hours and he is good! You can only expect about 10hp from headers and 10 from exhaust. Sound very sweet and is not overly loud to disturb the quietness of the 04 - just a purr with the windows up.

Other mods include 20" wheels and tires, lowered rear end 3 1/2" (no change in ride at all!), airraid throttle body spacer, trueflow air intake and superchips programmer. New underpully going on this week. Most significant increase was the superchips programmer of course.
