Hard Seats
You're absolutely correct. It is more of a personal issue with some.
I am a disabled veteran with a lower back injury that can't tollerate much when it comes to uncomfortable seats.
I'm 6'5" and 298 lbs. and I promise you I've got the seat cushion compressed to the bottom of the seat.
It just like a new pair of expensive shoes. They feel great for the first few miles until the foam gets flattened. There may be several miles left but they are not comfortable anymore.

I have an 03 suburban in addition to my 04 F150. The seats in the chevy are way more comfortable than in my ford. The smoother ride in the ford makes up for the seats though. My ford also handles better and I like the braking in it also. I have 8000 miles and the seats have not softened up yet.
My seats have been worn in for quite a while now. A few months ago the padding on the right side of my seat failed completely so I was sitting lopsided. I took it in to the dealer to get fixed and they replaced the padding. This is getting worn again, but not like before. When your 320 pounds it doesn't take long to break-in a seat. Overall, the seats are comfortable to me ~ coming from a 2001 Altima before I got this truck.
The seats are uncomfortable. At least for my 250lb ***. On a bad day my seat will squash down to where I can feel a bar runnig underneath the cushion. You can't have anything in your back pockets if you want to ride semi-comfortably. Believe it or not, this lack of comfort WOULD have been enough for me to consider another truck at time of purchase. But I did the order before testing method. The seats have made me re-think how long I plan to keep the vehicle. Mainly because I have a long ride to work and back. However, my company may be purchased by another company and I might not have those long ride to work problems anymore.
Thanks
Thanks to everyone for the input!
Glad to see it's not just me. I guess it didn't help that I brought my girlfriend to the dealer and had to hear her complain about them the whole time either.
Comfort is a pretty deal for me, and those seats just made my decision a lot tougher.

For those of you who are having problems with the seats, have you thought about taking the cover off and repadding them, or even replacing them with suspension seats. I am sure a sweet set of racing seats would look great in this truck.
