Windshield not optically correct

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last month I traded in my '02 F150 supercab for a '04 F150 supercab. After a few days of thinking my eyes were going bad, I relalized that the windshield had several "wavey" areas in it. One was directly in my line of sight on the horizon. The dealership replaced the windshield. The second windshield is almost as bad as the first. I'll be contacting them soon about replacing it also.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Razor249 welcome to the site, and congrats on the truck. I have
an optical wave in my windshield at a certain angle when looking from the drivers side to the right out the pass. side. i noticed it
last week but it doesn't play into my vision as needed to drive it so i'm gonna just let it go until they can show me the replacement shield that has the same f-150 logo in it like my current one has, i don't want too lose that effect, it looks too sharp to part with...

After taking delivery of mine I noticed something very similar and took it back to the dealer. They replaced the windshield and the replacement did have the F-150 logo on it.

jztbcz, the replacement was an OEM Carlite and it did have the F-150 logo on it. Its a little disappointing that the original and the replacement had basicly the same problem. I'm wondering at what point the dealer is going to tell me to live with it. I just got the customer satisfaction survey in the mail so I think I'll take it with me when I go talk to the service manager.

Black, was your replacement windshield clear to your satisfaction?

it's good to know if i swap out i can keep the logo on the glass
( i like it ) my current one is really not an issue as far as driving,
you can notice a little focus change if your looking through the
pass. angle from the drivers seat. Here in Ma. the inspection sticker goes there and that's how i first noticed it while glancing over at the sticker. Thanks for the info on the logo-ized shield too.

As I got on the interstate, after buying my F150, I noticed a distortion in the windshield in my line of sight. As I drove my truck, I found that it was not very noticeable when on secondary roads where the scenary was constantly changing or when my windshield was dirty.

Anyway, I am considering just trying to live with the problem at 3500 miles. My main concern is that the dealer will mess up the replacement by damaging the cowl, fenders, hood or new windshield gasket in the process.

What has been the experience of you guys with this? I assume that since there has not been any complaints on the workmanship? Has it not been an issue?
