I have GOT to upgrade from these Generals. I just don't feel like I am driving a truck anymore. I still have the Daystar to put in as well.

Sam's Club has a decent price on them, but they are still coming in right at $800. Anybody know of a better place?

Tuff, I have been searching for tires as well to go with the lift, everywhere I call they all say wait and get the procomp ATs because they match up the same, have a 50k warrenty and most important hold out for the buy 3 get one with free shipping from 4wheelparts, they can come in around $650 bucks.

Holy Hell! How long before they have another one of those giveaways? Are the procomps out now? From reading your post, it sounds like they are not out yet.

I stopped by Sears and out the door, mounted, balanced, and new valve stems was $840. I think that Sam's is probably the best price around. I want to get rid of my Generals as well.

Procomp has a 33x12.5x17 available now but it might be out of stock.

I am looking at the Toyo AT's in a 285/70r17 or maybe the Nitto 295/70r17 if I can find it.

Tuff-

Procomp has the 35" available now...they are just at normal price which is comparable to BFGs. The tread pattern and everything is pretty much the same and all the reps said that unless you have a hardon for BFG, to go with Procomp because you will save a lot of money. 4wheelparts and 4wheelonline both sell them but you have to hold off for the buy 3 get one deal to really make it count. Procomp said that they will most likely do this sale again before the end of the year, but they cannot disclose the actual date for sales and marketing reasons.
If you want 33" a bunch of guys are selling them on ebay for the discount price including shipping.

I did this exact same upgrade. I think I paid 220 for the BFG's each installed but they gave me 70 each for my old tires. They look Great though.

I remember you doing that. However, my tires have 12,000 miles on them. Plus, I have the Generals. I don't thing they're worth $70 as a set brand new.

For those running the 285's is anyone running them with out the lift in front? Tuff I see you have it but have not installed it yet. Also are you going to run the stock rims? The reason I am asking is that I talked to two different tire shops about my planned combo of tires the BFG's 285/70r17,s and the Centerline Hellcats or the new "cooler" rim and they advised that they would not use a 10 wide rim for these tires. Sorry I hope I didnt hi-jack this thread to bad

Oh Tuff I have the Generals to and man they are killing me.

A 10" rim for an 11.5" tire is too wide. That's more then likely what the tire shops were having issues with. On a 285/70, I wouldn't go wider then a 9" wheel. A 10" wheel will not hold the bead well.

I plan on doing both. Daystar and 285's. I am going to keep the stock wheels, I just don't see the need for an upgrade on MY truck. It's looks awesome on others, I would rather spend my money on something else.

jasonkola has some pix in his gallery of his truck with the 285's and no lift, and then the 285's with the lift:

the manager at the NTB quoted me $750.
(off the top of his head) but i forgot to ask if the 285/70/17's
