Volant Running Lean on 5.4L?

Volant Running Lean on 5.4L?
I've read a couple of posts that there"might be" problems with the Volant and the MAF on 5.4L that cause lean conditions. Anyway to know for sure other than having the dealer check the codes? Also, what are the hazards of your engine running lean? Has anyone with the Volant had any problems?
