That is not a good TSB number according to Ford. I tried it a few different ways, OASIS kept saying missing content. All the new 04 F150's should start with either a 03 or 04 number.

 

That's not a TSB number, that's an SSM number. I can't access specific SSM numbers from home, but I plugged in my VIN and got...(I won't list the specific details of each SSM publicly, since Uncle Henry says I ain't supposed to. Moderators, feel free to edit out any part you guys deem necessary for any legal matters, or lemme know if I screwed up.)

17931 2004 F-150 - This one says Ford knows about the rear axle whine, and engineering's working on a solution.

17466 - This one is for the clutches in the limited slip rears.

I'll find out what 17702 is tomorrow at work.

 

17702 regards certain '01-'03 and '04 Heritage model F150s having a gear whine on throttle tip in from 40-60 mph.
