I just checked the website and the Airaid was $291. They must have gone off sale.

Yeah, they went off sale Monday. I was planning on getting the Flowmaster cat-back that was also on sale, now they are off clearance also. If I had only gotten my paycheck a week earlier.

Once on sale=always on sale.

Usually a sale price sets the lower limit of margin a vendor is willing to accept (unless the vendor is just passing on a promotional/introductory/inventory clearance one-time discount of a manufacturer's wholesale price).

Here's where patience and negotiating skills pay off.

Yeah I already tried that Grim. I decided to call TruckPerformance so I would have someone to "negotiate" with. He wouldn't budge and just told me if that I wanted that price bad enough, I would have to wait for the next sale. Well guess what, I checked their site tonight and it's on sale this time with free shipping, last time there was a $30 s/h charge. So I'm coming out better on this deal.

I searched but I am still confused ... Are you guys running the Airaid intake without any problems of check engine light on?

Also, I check troyer's website and looks like their comment on the airforce one intake is outdated.. it says as of January 2004 intakes are not shipping yet .. are they shipping now?

I am dieying to put an intake on my car ....

thanks

Chinin,
I have 8,000 miles on my airaid. Had a light until I reprogrammed the PCM, I also "re rigged" the intake installation. The light hasn't returned!

I had problems with the Airaid Intake and decided to remove it after talking with Airaid and they admitted they were having problems. I returned the intake to the place I purchased and Airaid sent me the Airaid Jr. which is the MIT and filter but you leave the stock intake box on FREE of charge. I have that installed and it seems ok, nothing to write home about. I talked with Troyer last week when I purchased my 1714 tuner and they said the AF1 is still in testing. If all goes well it may be out by October. They are making sure there will be no problems like some of the other Intakes are causing with our trucks. I am looking forward to that Intake.

I'm leaning towards the Bassani exhaust for my truck, I have a SS Bassani exhaust on my Cobra and the sounds is quite unique. If any of you are considering 1 of the 3 Bassani exhaust they make for the 2004 5.4, call Houston Performance www.houstonperformance.com and talk to Steve D.

For instance, on SportTruckDirect.com they list this Bassani system

Bassani Complete Stainless Steel Exhaust (#54041-4): $615.95

BX Performance Aluminized Steel Exhaust with Stainless Steel Muffer & Polished Stainless Steel Tips (#BX-54041-4): $449.95

Steve quoted me $479 and $370

Do a Search on this page to see Bassani's 3 cat-back systems they now offer for the 5.4 3V, they offer a Lightning style exit, SISO stock location exit or a SIDO straight out the back exit.
